You are welcome and encouraged participate by lining both sides of Main St. from the RR tracks to the VFW area. However, you must remain in your cars. Please make noise for our seniors by honking your horns as they drive past. You may choose to follow the senior vehicles to the high school parking lot for the 20 min. and 20 sec. of lights viewing from our vehicle with your household.
If you choose not to participate this way, show your honor and support of the Class of 2020 by leaving your porch lights on from 8:20 for 20 min. and 20 sec.

Joining her in achievements are third graders, Xavier G., Chris G., Marshall L., and Aliyah S. for answering over 200 IXL math questions in the past two weeks! Kohen T. has also passed 7 AR quizzes.
Chase M., fourth grader, has completed his first study path for math in EdReady and his classmate, Macy M. has completed her second and is moving on to fifth grade study paths!
AND Collin M., sixth grader, has scored excellent on 5 new math skills!

Mrs. Whittaker is pleased to announce Kohen T., 3rd grader, passed a challenging topic with consonant patterns on System 44. He is now 2 topics away from reaching a new series!
2nd graders are reaching new heights with IXL math with continued use from this year. Akeelah T. has accumulated 20 hrs of practice recently and Alexis R. has answered 8,500 math questions!
There is a Great Reading Race of 2020 occurring in 6th grade. Collin M, and Cayden M. have completed the first challenge! The sixth grade as a whole have also answered 200 social studies questions with IXL since we've kicked off distance learning!

Dear Marion Elementary Parents:
After reflecting on some parent and teacher communications, our district is making some changes to our plan to distribute learning "packets" and/or chromebooks that remain on campus.
We are asking for your help, if you are able. On Thursday, from 11 a.m - 6 p.m, a handful of staff will be present at the elementary to help distribute learning materials and chromebooks. We are hoping as many parents as possible can visit campus to pick up materials on Thursday. Some of our staff feel it will be more efficient to pass out materials in this manner. Likewise, they will be able to provide information that will be helpful to parents in terms of using the materials at home.
After Thursday, if you still need to pick up materials, please email your child's teacher directly. Please explain how we can best serve you in terms of getting you the materials. Your options include: (1) setting up a pickup time and date to come to campus for pick-up, (2) indicating that you will pick materials up from one of our other four lunch distribution sites: (Redding Township Hall, Dighton Store, Middlebranch Township Hall, and Winterfield Township Hall - just tell us which one, please). If this is not possible, please let us know, and we can (3) arrange for a bus to deliver things to your driveway. Again, please let us know the address and the days you need delivery. Thank you for your help in this important manner. After this disbursement of materials, the district will be providing future communication regarding how to submit returned student work and outlining the process for future "batches" of work being sent home. Our Board of Education meeting is slated for tomorrow evening (April 14th) at 6:00 p.m. To honor the Governor's Orders, we will be meeting remotely. If you would like to participate, there will be regularly scheduled points of public comment. If you have a smartphone or device with internet connectivity, simply click on the link below at 6:00 p.m. If you are in need of a device and/or internet, please come to the Elementary parking lot a little before six. We have a small number of chromebooks we could loan to community members for those who want to attend the meeting using a district chromebook and wifi (the wifi reaches into the parking lot.
This is our first attempt at a virtual public meeting. I appreciate the cooperation in advance.

From Mr. Mayer: Jacelyn M, Kaylee B, Alekz R, and Mackenzie S have all completed a variety of American History. Nicholas N. and and Mason S. submitted their persuasion presentation.
From Ms. Baker: Alivia E. completed chapter #11-21 English IV novel reading organizers and the character quotes activity. Darian T. and Rylie R. have completed their 10 required Senior Volunteer hours. Jacelyn M. completed her Spanish 1 Verb conjugation worksheet packet, Verb Slideshow project, and the grammar and reading workbook pages.
The 6th graders have answered 100 social studies questions on IXL.
Mrs. Quist's 3rd graders have answered 100 science questions on IXL.
If you have not picked up your child's chrome book, classroom supplies or the contents of their locker, please call, send a facebook message, or email to school and arrangements will be made for those items to get home.
Friday, April 10 is Good Friday, Therefore, the breakfasts and lunches will be delivered on Thursday for both Thursday and Friday. Again, no meals will be delivered on Friday but your child will receive two days worth of each meal on Thursday.

IXL is used for math practice in grades K-6. During our distance learning, IXL has also opened science and social studies for our students. Way to go, sixth graders in Mrs. Deighton’s science classes for taking advantage of this opportunity! ♥️🦅🔬🧪🌱
