Not only is Mr. Henderson a Rock-Star of a teacher, but did you know he could be a real Rock-Star, too? Check out his song "Eagle Shuffle". EVERYONE wants to be a Marion Eagle these days! https://5il.co/gyhh

Fantastic Friday accomplishments from the final weeks of learning: Mr. Keeler has Aiden H, Ashton M, Kollin L, Malley R, and Zach F. who completed their Engineering Design projects to which they were challenged to design and test an edible glue of their own design that was capable of holding together a graham cracker tower and supporting a spoon or fork to show some magnitude of strength. Here are some photos of their results. Congratulations to Cayden M., sixth grader, who completed his second and final study path for 6th grade math in EdReady this week! (Side note: this program is open all summer to keep the math skills sharp for 4th-12th grade students. If you need a new goal key for a study path, you may email Mrs. Deighton.) Congratulations to Elaina C., sixth grader, for winning the third and final leg of the Great Reading Race of 2020. It was fantastic to have this during our distance learning quarter; great job to all the sixth graders who participated!

Calling students in grades 7-12th: You can sign up to become a member of Students Leading Students (SLS) for school year 2020-2021. Here is the SLS Mission Statement: The Marion Chapter of Students Leading Students (SLS) is a youth-lead program. SLS members strive to promote a positive school and community climate that helps youth make informed and positive choices to remain safe, healthy, and alcohol and drug free. “Real teens. Real issues.” This group plans and leads awareness, prevention, and education events/projects throughout the entire year. Their main goal is to help their peers NOT get involved with risky behaviors (i.e. using alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, bullying, school violence, unhealthy relationships, distracted and/or impaired driving, etc.). Students may complete the SLS Google Form application right away using this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfm1r2idBOvv4vzCzdASIb8Mwh8Om1lCAy_nAst9pI4cfu9Ig/viewform If any student would like more information about SLS, please contact Ms. Baker by email: sbaker@marion.k12.mi.us.

Remember our last day of school tradition? Staff lines the fence and sidewalk of schools and waves as the buses pull out to summer vacation. Fun for all! THIS YEAR WE ARE COMING TO YOU!! June 4 is our official last day of school. So our MPS staff will be leaving schools at 12:30 to come and wish you well for the summer break. (Although we hope you still get some reading, writing and skill practice in these months too.) We'll be traveling in buses, of course, out towards Dighton route, back through town, out through Bontekoe area route, to Strawberry Ave. route, to Temple area, back along Middle Branch routes. Watch FB and Marion app updates to know when we'll be in your area. Then come out and wave and cheer for a great summer!

Folks, My apologies! I so was excited to share the good news about the "Mifi" Boxes located throughout the district, I forgot to mention the most important part: HOW TO CONNECT! From your device, choose the "Marion" Connection. When prompted, the password is GoEagles. (No space, capital "G," and capital "E". Thanks to those who let us know about my error. Enjoy!

There are some students who need a shout out this Friday: Mrs. Mort would like to congratulate Rebecca S. and Emily C. for completing their work this week and Alekz R. for finishing an AimsWeb measurement assessment! Mr. Keeler is celebrating with Malley R., Zach F. and Micheal H. as they just completed the "Edible Glue Design Challenge" for science. You can see Micheal's house in the photo. It must have been a delicious demolition! Mrs. Deighton thanks sixth grader scientists, Mason C., Collin M., Jennifer F., and Cayden M. for sharing their species projects via Google Meet this week. Also, thank you to Mrs. Prielipp for attending too! Nice job, students! We're on the home stretch. Thanks for you efforts in the final hour!
