Ages 16 (with parent's permission) and older are welcome! This drive's tip for a successful donation is to make sure to eat iron-fortified cereal, Malt-o-meal, or take iron supplements to bump up your hemoglobin count. As always, donors are encouraged to drink extra water and eat a good breakfast/lunch on the day of the drive to ensure a comfortable blood draw. Sign up today to help save lives!

The 2nd grade classes took a trip down to the Marion Village Hall to learn about services provided by the local government.
Their first stop was the village office where they met the people behind the scenes of our village including Mrs. Lee (treasurer), Mrs. Zuiderveen (clerk), and President Flora Grundy. Mrs. Grundy discussed with students some of the services the local government provides to the residents and the job of the Marion Village Council. Students got to sit behind the table where the council sits for meetings.
A stop was made at the library where students learned about all of the resources it provides by the library director, Mrs. Genereaux-Maddox. They were read stories, given applications for a library card, and informed about the excellent reading program that takes place in the summer.
The final stop was in the building that houses all the emergency vehicles. Mr. Wing, Mr. Tower, and Mr. and Mrs. Barron took the students on a tour of all the vehicles and showed how they may be used to help people in danger. Students got to sit up in fire trucks and were treated to a bag of goodies in the end.
A big thank you to all the village employees who made it an informative and fun day for the students!
