Summer learning is HOT!
This summer we have focused on math and reading. Most of our students benefited from the skills that they already knew, like fact fluency and problem-solving, but also gained a deeper understanding of topics that they may have struggled with during the school year. Students followed their workshop menu each day, and of course, they slipped in some fun activities and theme days to keep motivated. Thank you to all students and teachers who helped with our summer school program.
For the 2023-2024 school year, Marion will continue with our "late start Wednesdays". School will start at 9:00 am at the elementary; school will start at 8:50 am at the high school.
Tomorrow is our last WAVELENGTH WEDNESDAY!!! If your haven't joined the fun, please plan to come for some math tutoring. Mrs. Deighton will help with your summer math workbook, a math concept that has always bugged you, or play a math game. This is available at the elementary from 11-2 tomorrow! Call or stop by and get on the same wavelength with math before next school year!
SEEDS Marion students traveled to Hartwick Pines National Forest in Grayling, MI. They hiked the Old Growth Trail and learned to identify different trees. They also visited the old logging museum and learned about what life was like in an old logging camp.
A great opportunity for young players to work on basic basketball skills in a fun and motivating environment!
SEEDS Marion students learned about electrical circuits. They created their own functional Harry Potter wands that really light up using popsicle sticks, tape, copper wire, and batteries.
Have you joined us for lunch in the Marion Elementary School Cafeteria yet? This is the LAST week we will run this free program.
Free meals are available to children 18 years of age and under. This program will run through August 3 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We hope to see you there.
