The articles are written by the sixth grade Exploration Class. The Marion Elementary PTO was happy to support this project by funding the tokens of appreciation for each Spotlight Student.

Kayara. D, 1st grade Mrs. McCrimon’s class

Kayara's favorite colors are pink and purple. She says she likes these colors just because she just likes them. Her favorite sports are cheer and gymnastics because she is very flexible so she knows she will do great at them and we hope she will too. The thing that makes her happiest is playing with her friends at recess. Her favorite music is from Frozen 1 and 2; those are her favorite movies too. The holiday that she likes the most is Christmas because she gets presents. A favorite thing at school she likes to do is “free time” because she can play with her friends. The place that she wants to go in the whole world is Disney world because it looks fun in commercials. Her favorite foods are strawberries with sugar because they are sweet and that is all that she likes besides her family.
Jeremiah B. 5th grade, Mrs. Bell’s room

Jeremiah’s favorite color is blue. He said it was blue because all of his family members like it and he wants to take after them. Jeremiah’s hobby is playing with friends and playing with his squishy. His favorite sports are basketball and football. Jeremiah said when he feels the happiest is when he is hanging out with his crush. The type of music he likes is rap because people he knows also listen to it. Jeremiah’s favorite movie is Titanic because he loves to watch when the boat sinks. He does not have a favorite holiday because he loves them all, but he does have two favorite times of year: he likes summer and winter. Jeremiah wants to travel everywhere because he wants to see the world. At school, he likes recess and packing up to go home. His favorite foods are pizza, chicken alfredo, and macaroni with hamburger. Jeremiah wanted to share that he has a lot of best friends and a cousin in his class.

Emmie W's favorite sport or hobby is cheer, and playing with her sister makes her feel happiest. Emmy’s favorite food is watermelon. Also, she loves recess. If she could go anywhere, she would go to Disney World because it looks fun. Her favorite color is apple green. She prefers summer's warmth and Halloween candy. Her favorite movie is Frozen. Emmie W. is a valuable student at Marion Elementary.
Danny F, 4th grade

Danny likes to play with his dog in his free time and his dog makes him feel the happiest. He likes the color blue and he also has a favorite movie, Legos, because he watches it all the time. His favorite music is pop because he listens to it. Danny’s favorite season is winter because he likes holidays, the presents, and he likes to spend time with his family. In school, Danny likes gym class because he likes the activities that they do in the gym. Danny likes to eat salad because of the bacon bits. Danny is a fourth grade student and we appreciate him.
Silas M, 2nd grade Mr. Henderson's class

Silas’s favorite sport is football because he thinks it is fun and his favorite team is the Detroit Lions. When asked about his favorite food, Silas said he loves biscuits and gravy. He likes the color red because it is a light color. His favorite thing about our school is recess because he gets to play outside with his friends. If Silas could go anywhere in the world, he would go to Maryland because he hasn’t been there since he was a baby. He doesn’t remember it much. Seeing his parents after his long bus ride is what makes Silas feel happiest. His favorite music is hip hop and his favorite movie is Sonic because he couldn’t think of any other good movie. Silas says that he likes summer because he gets to go outside more than usual.

Isaiah M. is a 3rd grader in Ms. Russell’s class. Isaiah likes the color green because he likes trees. He likes playing his PS4 games because he likes playing football on it. Isaiah enjoys going to school to learn new things. Isaiah likes rock songs and his favorite movie is Hobbs and Shaw because rock is in the movie. He also likes to play the guitar. Isaiah's favorite season is spring because it is not too cold or hot, it’s warm. His favorite holiday is Halloween because of the ghosts and goblins. If he could go to Hawaii he would like it because it is warm and it is a good place because you can go swimming at the beach. Isaiah likes our school because we are the Eagles and it is the best school. Isaiah likes pepperoni pizza especially if it’s from Shananjacs.
Isabella N, Mrs. Quist’s class

Isabella N. is an 8 year old girl that likes the color purple, but the reason she likes the color purple is because it is the color of grapes and she loves grapes. However her favorite food of all time is bosco sticks. She likes bosco sticks because they have mozzarella cheese inside of them. Since we're talking about favorite things, Isabella's favorite thing to do is to ride her dirtbike and she likes doing that because she can ride it to her grandpa and grandmas. Isabella N. is very flexible, also she is fast and she likes spending time with her family, mostly her cousins. But Isabella said if she could go anywhere in the world she would go to Arkansas to see her older sister who lives there and she hasn't seen her in a while.

Christopher's favorite food is macaroni because of the cheese. He couldn’t think of what makes him happy on the spot. His favorite colors are orange, red because the macaroni is orange and the basketballs are orange. Christopher's favorite sport or hobby is basketball because it's fun. His favorite music or movie is Face Off because it's cool and has The Rock in it. If Christopher could go anywhere in the world he would go to Japan to learn the culture and the language. His favorite season is summer because it’s warm; he also likes Christmas to have presents. Christopher’s favorite part of school is math. He really likes dividing.

Jackson, a kindergartner, is in Mrs. Horstman’s class. Jackson's favorite hobby is football because his dad likes it and he used to play it. Jackson’s mom likes the color blue, so Jackson likes it too. He also loves the taste of watermelon as his favorite food. The best part of school is to play outside during recess with his cousin. Jackson likes winter because he likes to sled, and he likes Halloween because it is scary, and he likes the color orange. Florida is a place where he wants to go. It is warm and Jackson likes to swim. Rap music is his favorite and his favorite movie is Ricky Dicky and Dawn. He is happy when he can see his cousin who is in second grade. Jackson is six years old.

What makes Evan feel happiest is eating Chinese food and he says it's super good. Evan’s favorite sport is basketball because he really wants to make it in the hoop. Evan’s favorite food is crab rangoon because he says it's really good. His favorite color is lime green because it makes him think of apples and they’re sour. Christmas is Evan’s favorite time of year because he likes getting presents and spending time with his family. His favorite movie is Ron's Gone Wrong because he says it's funny for him. Evan thinks that recess is the best part of school because he can do whatever he wants to do. If Evan could travel anywhere in the world, he would go to Louisiana because it's always warm there. Evan prefers cats over dogs and he has been to every lake in Michigan.
